What role alignment looks like in practice

To close out the week, we wanted to show what the last two emails look like when applied to a real candidate.

Earlier this week, we focused on two ideas that consistently improve hiring outcomes:
– Right-sizing the role
– Defining success before day one.

Both matter most when the candidate’s approach aligns with the structure of the role.

That’s why we’re sharing Marilyn Pereyra.

Marilyn is a bilingual franchise paralegal with experience supporting attorneys in contract-heavy, compliance-driven environments, including multi-jurisdictional work. She’s comfortable stepping into clearly scoped roles and contributing quickly.

What stood out in her intro video was mindset. She’s proactive about learning unfamiliar processes, takes ownership of her work, and focuses on reducing friction for the team; traits that tend to show up on day one and compound over time.

We’ve recently been engaged by firms across employment, litigation, and transactional practices facing similar capacity decisions.

One final thought as we head into next week.

Defining 90-day success only works if the right candidate makes it to day one. In our experience, that often comes down to the hiring workflow itself — how quickly decisions are made, who owns next steps, and how momentum is maintained.

Next week, we’ll break down what a successful hiring workflow actually looks like in practice, including turnaround times and where accountability tends to break down.

Best,
